Jag Mukherjee

Jag Mukherjee is the Vice President of Customer Experience, Portfolio Management, and Transmission and Distribution at TAQA, a diversified utilities and energy group headquartered in Abu Dhabi. TAQA has assets globally in Canada, Ghana, India, Iraq, Morocco, Oman, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Netherlands, the United Kingdom and the United States.

At TAQA, Jag is responsible for providing strategic guidance and subject matter expertise to portfolio companies to achieve higher levels of performance to meet return expectations of the holding company and investors. In his current role, Jag partner with leaders of the operating companies with a dedicated focus on customer excellence, digitization, non-regulated revenue growth, and demand side management programs.

Jag is a seasoned business consultant who has spent the past 25 years working with top electric power companies, industry CXOs, and business executives on a range of business problems. He focuses on helping his clients cut through the noise and understand the implications of today’s fast changing environment. His practical and actionable insights have helped many companies develop strategic plans, technology roadmaps, and realize multi-billion dollar grid modernization programs.

Jag draws on his diverse managerial and functional experience in the industry: as Strategy Consultant, an Equity and Debt Investor, a Power Projects Developer, a Power System Engineer, and a Researcher in Corporate R&D labs. He is experienced with using digital technologies to modernize mid to large size utilities in a smart and cost effective way. He combines his industry knowledge with business, finance, and technical skills to help companies navigate the change in today’s volatile, uncertain, complex, and ambiguous environment.

Jag is constantly inspired by innovative technologies and seeks out ways to learn and apply his learning in real-world commercial settings to enable an energy future that works for all.

Jag’s academic qualifications include: Masters in Business Administration from Chicago Booth School of Business, University of Chicago, Masters in Electric Power Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. He is a Member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers and Strategic Management Society.
